Center for Housing and Long Term Care

The mission of the Center for Housing and Long-Term Care is to conduct research of community infrastructure, affordable housing, long-term care needs and preferences, long-term care needs and preferences, long-term care options, ethnic and racial minority use of long-term care, and quality of life in housing and long-term care. Staff accomplishes this through conducting needs assessments, program evaluations, and local and national surveys, in collaboration with researchers in Florida and the U.S.

State Data Center on Aging

The State Data Center on Aging is dedicated to on-going expert policy analysis and program evaluation research linking major databases, including Medicare, Medicaid, National Long-Term care Survey, Longitudinal Study on Aging, AHEAD (Asset and health Dynamics of the Oldest Old), Health and Retirement Survey (HRS), CIRTS (Florida client data), and U.S. Census. The Data Center generates analytical reports on aging-related issues in the areas of health care, long-term care, housing and more.

The Training Academy on Aging

The Training Academy on Aging coordinates the university’s approach to providing high quality, affordable and accessible training to public and private organizations serving elders in Florida. The Academy’s mission is to develop and provide professional training to those involved with long-term care, housing, case management, caregiving and other issues. These include staff of residential care facilities, case management agencies, state social service agencies and health care providers, including hospitals, hospice, home health agencies, aging network organizations and managed care organizations.
